Jonquils from Peihana
Jonquils are a specific type of Daffodil. These flowers signal the arrival of Spring and are among the first to bloom after winter. They have a beautiful scent which is often used in perfumes and oils. These pretty blooms were gifted to me by a local organic farmer - Peihana Farm - in Urenui just up the coast from us here in Oakura and where we buy our vegetables. I just love the way they all appeared to be looking in different directions when I placed them in a vase. I enjoyed playing with the composition of each flower, the juxtaposition of their soft creamy yellow full petals on their straight hollow strong green stems.
